Just posted on CML:

"DALSA Corporation (TSX: DSA), an international leader in high performance digital imaging and semiconductors, announced today that following the closure of DALSA's Woodland Hills, CA, cinema equipment rental facility and the termination or redeployment of the Digital Cinema division staff, the Company has wound down its Digital Cinema operations. Following extensive negotiations with Arnold & Richter Cine Technik GmbH ("ARRI") for the past several months, the Company has failed to reach agreement with ARRI as to acceptable terms on a definitive agreement. As a result, the Company set aside discussions with ARRI and the Company is currently pursuing other alternatives to maximize value of its Digital Cinema operations. There can be no guarantee that any of these alternatives will ultimately lead to a successful transaction"

So no go for the arri—dalsa dealie.

Jim, are you in the market for some dalsa sensors? I would, but all my billions are busy right now.

Very interesting news, I am actually pretty surprised that they could not come to an agreement. Should be interesting to see how all this shakes out with the way the economy seems to be going. Thanks for posting.

Wow- it's hard to know the terms of the deal but ARRI's offer must have been incredibly lowball for Dalsa to essentially put itself out of business instead of taking it.

Dalsa does a lot more than digital cinema, they make sensors for some of the top cameras in every sector. I believe that all of hasselblad's sensors are dalsa, as are a lot of military cameras. Digital cinema was an experiment to them.

interesting, thanx for info David
