  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Are we realy talking with the 'real' CEO of the RED company ?

RED installs a cookie on your computer wherever you log in. There are 5 different people who play each RED employee and everyone in the world is randomly assigned one of them to be the actor. They all take turns writing posts but at trade shows everyone has "Their Jim" or "Their Graeme" it's really a clever ruse when you see it at play. I only know because once I connected through a proxy and saw the Graeme-C avatar who is a short red headed Irish Graeme. Evidently my assigned Graeme is Graeme-B.
I fear this whole thread is becoming infected with both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. For those of you with distiller hardware on your interface device, it would behoove you to turn it on immediately. Let's keep Graeme bacteria free so his work will remain pure.

I have seen Jim speak in person and I have read many of "his" posts here. Yeah, they're the same person... unless maybe Graeme has written an algorithm for an Auto-Jannard-Responder. And yeah, I've processed enough R3D's to know that a JJ AI would be a piece of cake for the G man to code.

Good call.

Good call.

I doubt Jim's a violent guy -but I'd take him in a fight with Bruce Willis.

I met Jim at the second Red Day. The tale of the tape would be more than enough. Jim is 6'4"? Bruce 5'11" maybe? But my money would still be on Jim if he were shorter than Danny DeVito. When I first saw him he was wearing jeans, what looked like a dark blue on blue silk print shirt untucked, and flip flops and smoking a cigar. Jim has a serious, take no prisoners attitude. My advice is to always try and over estimate him. You will still be wrong but it will be less of a shock when he kicks your ass.

That is the funniest post I have ever seen!

The first time I met Jim was in 1997 in the Oakley R&D lab, I was shooting a prototype Shoe thingy and he said, "can you make it tighter and darker - so nobody can really figure it out?".

That was the opposite of any client I have ever met. So whatever normal corporate thinking is, you can bet that Jim isn't that.

I had the exact same situation 2 years ago. They looked at me like I was totally naive... It's mostly business-people, economic students who don't believe it. RED is against all dogmas :)
