  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Are there any video goggles that hook up to HDMI or HD-SDI?

I'm thinking of these for jib work only. . .

Thanks much.

i have a pair of the eye tops sunglass with one lcd screen. only has rca input. screen so small would only be useable for blocking . not good for much else even if it was hd.

I was always hoping for Oakley to come out with digital HUDs for lenses.

RED Edition Oakley's with HD HUD (to view live RED footage)...

Great Idea!

Looks like these will work with an HDMI to DVI-I adapter:

I don;t see any pricing info, but suspect they're rather pricey.

I'm thinking of getting one of these for my jib work:

SD composite image used with my AJA HD10MD3 down-converter.

The cool thing about that sensics product is that it says it will accept separate 1680 x 1050 video signals for each eye. Imagine that combined with Red 3D. :)

I have no idea, but those Sensics must be multiple thousands! Incredible specs to say the least.

The web site says "Commercial prices (quantity 1) start at about $20,000. Based on your price target, we can often present to you several HMD configurations that might best suit your needs."

No kidding. . .

How about a pair for $1000??? I'm surprised no one has a great suggestion here. The problem with a jib set up is that you can't go from very low to very high and still keep your eye on the monitor and still keep your hands on the fluid head and see what you're shooting. I figure that the goggles would be great for framing.

I have considered mounting my RED EVF to a football helmet and using a 10' EVF cable for monitoring with my 7' crane. What do you guys/gals think?

What a wickedly good idea.

Sold.

I'm going out and buying one today.

Please take photos and post... lol

By the way, i shot some footage on a jib the other night and had a 24" monitor on a chair pointing up to me and used that for framing with the red lcd on a 9" arm for when i came down for low shots and the field of view of other monitor didn't work. This worked really well... Not the greatest set up for field work where power is not available though.
