  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Apple finally responds to FCP X fallout

Yeah but Final Cut Pro 7 sucks compared to the petition. Final Cut Pro X is a big dodo bird. I hate what they did to Apple Color... what a shame.

I've been hanging by a thread with FCP7 only to hope for a bigger and badder FCP, and this is what we get. This is beyond a broken record now.

I've had major bug issues with the current version of 7.

1. After a few days of working on hours of multicam sequences I'm unable to go back and make changes without having to create a totally new sequence.

2. Boris Title 3D crashes when scrolling through fonts.

3. I can't even playback DV footage without it stuttering let alone uncompressed files. Yes they playback fine in Quicktime.

4. I won't get into the whole gamma issue that still fucken haunts me!

5. Unable to paste duration to multiple clips like the previous version.

6. Still no BR support in sight? Stuck with basic share export.

7. Having to babysit when reconnecting files.

I'm sure there's more...

yikes! well I can write out a list of pains and woes from the Avid front but it wont help you much.
curious about the DV footage, last time we had a problem (years ago) it was an issue with Avid MediaRAID drives.
funny went we changed to (then Medea) to the RTRX drives this issue went away.
But by then we went full on HD and yes a whole new crop of issues was born :P

Your issues are valid and wish you luck with dealing with Apple on that.
 
Sort of interesting that FCP Studio 3 full and upgrade versions are going for inflated prices on Ebay. Upgrades for over $500, full for over $1000.
