  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I'm surprised they still haven't done 8K video, the upcoming Insta360 Ace Pro 2 action cameras are rumored to have 8K and Samsung has been dancing around iPhones with 8K for a good long while now.
 
I think it's the quality of the image and not so much the resolution of the image. I've seen 8K done badly by a number of cameras. I mean just look at the ARRI line of cameras. All of the ARRIs cameras available for sale are still just a little over 4K with the Sony Venice and RED V-Raptor/Monstro/Dragon at 8K. The only ARRI camera near 8K capable is the RENTAL ONLY Alexa 65 at 6K. Plus I like the COLORs better in certain lighting situations from the Canon and ARRI cameras than any RED camera.

From what I have seen, the new high res sensors on the latest iPhones don't produce images that can enlarge well. Even some big sensors do not have good image fidelity, such as the one in the A7S III. It's not nice. Neither is the A9's sensor. Image quality is not an easy business.
