Hey I am leaving mid march to film in Kolkata India. I generally try to travel really light and try to use "normal" looking camera bags. I have a Red Epic and Black Magic 4k camera. I think I am just bringing the Black Magic to try and stay as low key as possible. I also want to carry about 3 on camera LED lights and some matthews road rags in my checked item. Along with essentials like batteries, 4 Prime lenses and cords etc. Does anyone have any experience with India and getting things through? We are going to Kolkata India. Does my above config sound ok? ANY thoughts or insight would be a HUGE help. Thanks a bunch!Jonathan

Hi Jonathan, if you stay low key as you mention you should not have problems with checks at airport...
On your configuration I wouldn't like to comment since I do not know what your project is about.
Let me know if you need further help.
Good luck,

Jonathan,
I suggest you declare your equipment in customs to avoid any hassles.
Also be forewarned it is difficult for a Caucasian with a camera to be 'low key' on the streets of Kolkata.

Thanks for the input. Would that potentially cause more issues if I am coming in on a tourist visa? Also do you think I could bring my epic?

You can bring your EPIC, but remember to state that You are a Photo/Video enthusiast and this is your personal photography equipment. Also you normally shoot images from your travels for memoirs. DO NOT mention anything about any kind of WORK if you are on a tourist visa. If asked about profession you will have to state something other than Cinematography/Photography.
