  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Anyone successfully adopted Cuda for Mac?

Well, I am still happy as two posts above. The problem with the OS X 10.6.4 and the interference with CUDA is really irritating. Specially since the fix has been announced and is available for OS X 10.6.4 and CUDA Interference, but the link for the new build firmware is broken (both, for GTX and for Quadro. :violin:

Hey Luis, have you tried going from Premiere to Color for CC? Theoretically you should be able to generate Final Cut XML or an EDL in Premiere and open in Color. I tried a very quick test with no luck.

I'm kinda thinking Premiere to DaVinci might be the next ultimate workflow.

You need Clipfinder to change from R3D to proxies, then it works. I wrote a workflow article, but unfortunately in German.

Does clipfinder does anything apart from changing the name of the file the xml is pointing to?

Regards!

If you don't need the other features, editing the XMl is fine.

Its not the the Cuda that does the playback its your regular CPUs and the mercury engine. The realtime debayering is done by the Cuda engine. With Red footage I have personally had up to six layers of full res 4k running up to 11 minutes with color correction and dynamic links keys on a GTX285.

Be careful here... PPro can't currently play 4k at full res. I am sure you are using 1/4 or 1/8 res with this setup. 4k full res will currently play at 0fps. However, I am using some toys you guys don't yet have access to, and I can play 4k at full res in real time after about 2 seconds of starting playback. 2streams of 2k with effects at full res are realtime ;) I wouldn't think you will need to wait that much longer to have the toys I am playing with...

Cheers

Dave

So, RELEASE the beasts...!!! :thumbup1:

Are you talking about RR support? That would be fantastic!
