I'm looking to get rid of some things. I have never used a whip or speed crank on a manual follow focus. Does anyone still use these any more?

They get used all the time when using a manual follow focus. However, I rarely see those anymore.

I have a few and honestly agreed with David -- for low (or zero) budget shoots where there's no wireless FF or a dedicated focus puller, the whip crank is fantastic. No need to touch the lens and introduce shake and a gentle slow hand can do a lot with one. I think I have 3 or 4 of them in my kit but they were all given to me by cameramen from high budget shoots who no longer needed them and were just making space in their gear bags.

To be honest, I like them when I want to get back to the foundation of film -- so much more hands on feel, old school style.
