Hello all - just got my Red the other day and like most, I feel compelled to shoot absolutely everything in sight.

So I noticed something when pointing at my range in the kitchen. It uses infrared burners than are.. well.. red to the naked eye, but the Red (R) sees them as blue / violet. I am guessing there is a filter like the ones DSLR still cams use, but I find this interesting none the less. Am I close?

Whatever it is I think it is cool, just odd. Looks like I have a Plasma Range.

... also I am completely obsessed with this camera

Its a question i have been wanting to know for a while actually. How RED deals with IR. DO they have a blocker built into the camera to stop spill, and will Scarlet be convertable for IR motion or still (not talking nightvision as such just to be knock that on the head!)

@AndrewGentle - Flat green beans drowned with Pepper Sauce ... Mmmmm

Above post pretty much describes this behavior to a tee. I am glad that I posted this. I did notice a bit of violet when I was shooting some magnolia leaves in my yard, but it never dawned on me that my frame was "contaminated". I figure that Michael Morlan's climate in TX is similar to Atlanta.

Now I have a better idea of the filter sets that I need to get. I have a lot to learn.
