As mentioned elsewhere, I am looking to get a Red. Pending the 2 that are FS currently here don't head my way, I wanted to know how quickly one can get a new Red.

So, if I place my order Monday, there is a mention 3-5 days to process. So how long did everyone who ordered recently take to get thiers into your hands? Could I realisticly get one in 7 business days? I do have an email into the Bomb Squad, but being Friday late, may take a few days to get the info back.

I have an opportunity to get a 3 day shoot in on the 11-13th of October that would make a great baptism by fire. It would be on this project:

Thanks, and more questions to come.

Well after they received my money took two days to get to me...simple as that...
The money thing was what took the longest, the ordering may take about 2 days, so 7 days maybe pushing it, maybe 8-10days...

EDIT:
Actually that was a lie..the processing after the money took another day/2,

In all, thats 2 day order, the wait time on money, 2 day process after they receive, 2 day ship...

In my email I did ask about funding. I don't do credit cards, so only have Debit cards, and they have a limit on how much you can spend in a day. Hopefully I am not the only person to buy a Red with this situation:)

I asked them that and assumed they would have an option. I have the funds in a California bank (that didn't accept TARP funds:) ) and thought that might make the transfer easier.

But I did pay for your book with the debit card:)

Wire or cashier's check

Wire or cashier's check

Hi Scott,

I found myself in that situation last week. I went down to LA to outfit my Red at Able, and decided to swing by and pick up an 18-85 at the Red store.

The wire thing will work, or for even faster turn around, I just drove over to a bank branch and had them cut a cashier's check and the Red store took that no problem.

Personal check's are the slowest path. Give them a call, and I'm sure you can work out something to expedite payment.

Hope that helps,

Steve

I am up in Sacramento, and I put off/avoid the I5 drive as long as possible:) But FedEx'g a CC/MO should not be a problem. Well, except for the fact that it will put a huge dent in my account balance:(

Plus I am trying to avoid tax, so may have it shipped to Arizona and fly or drive over there to pick it up. I am still trying to see if I can find out the tax credit and if it applys that I seem to recall california offers on production equipment/software.

I try to avoid/put off the I5 trip to LA from Sacramento as long as possible. I may have the Red shipped to Phoenix to avoid the tax. Give me an excuse to visit family and friends there (in the worst heat of the summer of course).

I assumed I could FedEx of a CC/MO overnight and that would/should solve the funding problem.

Steve, where are you located? I am in Sacramento.

i've waited over 6 weeks now for my red and still waiting...

Probably something else on backorder and waiting for everything to reduce shipping charges.

I don't use credit cards either. My bank will authorize an over limit debit with a phone call. I had that happen at B&H one time with a debit card purchase that was denied as over limit. Called the bank and cleared the debit within a few minutes. Some banks may not be so gracious.

scott,

if i may, Sac to LA is gonna be about the same to fly as the shipping and the invaluable contact with the people at the store is worth it for one. Secondly, what are your plans for storing your camera ie...cases etc? I recommend you look into this as there are several solutions and its best to know before you have body in hand. there are companies in LA that make terrific cases so that you camera(s) stay relatively built and ready for use, and you can grab that on you visit to LA too.

As for payment my understanding is they only take Xpercent on any card and the bulk is done by wire transfer, and that what can take a couple days. Once red has funds you new child will get there real soon believe me. And then you have the task of putting it together depending on how many xtras you get. For me wasnt too easy, and i was a focus puller for 15yrs as no instructions are included, but youll get it

Scot M,

I wired RED the money for camera 6633 on monday morning and it was in my office on thursday afternoon. Great turn around time. Now if only i can get a power pack off of back order then i'll be able to turn it on.:)
