Going to be passing through there soon and want to capture the essence of the town. I'll have about 4-6 hours. This footage may be used in a music video for a friend of mine. If anyone has suggestions for money shots, feel free to pass them along. Otherwise, I'm doing my best to research in a short amount of time.

Thanks!

Downtown, Patton avenue Pack square area has a lot of street performers, musicians and otherwise, on sunny weekends. Not much sun this summer though.

Steve; passing this along from my daughter and son-in-law...they visit Asheville often...

"the river arts district and generally wandering around downtown should be enough to kill a few hours..."

Thanks guys! This is all very helpful. I think based on the time I have and the kind of shots I'm thinking of getting, the downtown, arts side of things sounds like the way to go. And then if time allows maybe a little drive through Blue Ridge Mountains.

The weather is looking iffy though, which could literally rain on my parade. Keeping fingers crossed.

steve, i'm an hour away on the other side of the mountain. arts district by the river, downtown, and the parkway are great. there's also the biltmore estate and grove park inn and a farmers market by the airport. shoot me a message and i'll try to point you in the right directions :)

Asheville is a very strange city to me.

Cute little town square/center, artisan shops, farmers markets. Nothing for you, not even groceries, if you're not a hippie or hipster. I'm sure it was all really quaint and cute when Asheville was a town. But now it's a city, with a population 5-6x too big for that shit. Blow it off and go to Biltmore or the Blue Ridge Parkway.
