  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Anyone know of a super lightweight and cheap ND holder?

Hi all. . .

I've got two matteboxes for my REDs. Don't want want of those. I'm looking for something really small and lightweight to hold my 4" x 5.65" ND filters. Any thoughts? And tape won't work. I'm sure that will mess up the surface of my hot mirrored NDs.

Thanks.

Stephen

Cokin Z-Pro will hold 4x5.6 filters http://www.cokin.com/ico15/ico15-haut.html?=#z

Birns makes a very lightweigh mattebox that clamps on to the lens and holds 2 filters without trays:

That seems like it might be what you're asking for? Weighs only a few ounces. I think you could even remove the shade if you wanted.

I like that Z-Pro. . . and how much is the Birns mattebox? Looking at the Z-Pro, there is a mattebox that goes with that system, as well, for about $600.

Has anyone here actually used this Birns and Sawyer mattebox? Cokin apparently makes something very similar for almost exactly the same price. I'm looking for something that will last, but also is very lightweight.

Thanks.
