  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Anyone know anything about this lens...

Soviet made medium format lens with a sort of hacked on PL mount. It will indeed make pictures. I bet not even "bad" pictures... is it a standard motion picture lens? not really. but I think you can make nice pictures. the mount is substandard, but it will work.

Confirming all of the above. I have one of the Ziess jenna 180mm lenses that Sovjak sold. For the money you really can't go wrong.

I have a 180mm as well, great lens and cheap. I also have an 80mm and can't say the same for that. It's ok when stopped down but at 2.8 not such a great performer.

Shane, are you talking about the Soviet lenses or the Zeiss Jena ones?

As Dan touched on before , this Lomo is a PL re - mounted MOTION picture lens as compared to a PL re-mounted stills lens. Thus it is T stop marked . The rear flange distance would worry me a bit on a spinning mirror cine camera but a sensor should be ok. Though dismissed by some and sometimes their mechanics an achilles heel, Lomo optics are probably underated and value for money hard to beat.

I have one of these 150mm Lomo lenses, bought from the same seller. It is not a bad lens really, wide open it has some purple fringing that goes away by stopping down one stop or so. Mechanically it is so so. The lens moves forward quite a lot when focussing and the weight of all the glass pushes down on the focussing thread so focussing is heavier than with wider LOMO lenses. Make sure it is lubed well and don't attache a matte box to the front.

If you want a really nice LOMO lens go for the 75mm T2 if you can find one. That is a beautiful lens! Sharp wide open with a nice soft feel to it, hardly any CA or purple fringing. Great lens flares. Or the 50mm T2 which is great too.

Sovjak is a good seller and reliable and you can ask him details about the lens before you buy. You will have to wait a bit for things to arrive by mail.

the one I bought, yes. Great lens for the money.

Someone wrote on eBay that because the lens was originally made for Pentacon 6 cameras, that the lens is actually equivalant to a 105mm on a 35mm camera... is that right?
