Anyone have trouble with FW800 Plugs on Red Drives?

I have a devil of a time getting a FW800 cable in the socket on my 2 Red Drives. The Metal shield around the socket seems to be too tight so that the plug will not insert. Anyone else have this problem?

i had the sam problem. Just buy another cable or try to peal a little from the cable so it could fit.

My port wasn't alligned correctly on one drive and I had some trouble too.

Same here. Just a snug fit for me. not sure why but it seem like newer cables are slightly bigger .....

Did You try using it with power supply at the same time?
I can use it only like that...

Yes, power does go through FW800 cable. However, it is better to run data solely through FW800 cable and use the RED-supplied AC adaptor for power.

I always use the power adapter. I haven't had any trouble with my cables, sorry to sound smug. But I have had really good luck with the drive in general.
