The title says it all. If you are at NAB, please share!

I have been hugely excited about ODEMAX but I have to admit, if nothing is heard at NAB, I am thinking it might have flamed out altogether.

And no word about the Red Ray Player. Either something is up... or it's down.

I do think they are taking the idea of staying silent to build up anticipation a little too far. It kind of pisses one off. :-(

I can't help believing they are silent because of some synergism with RED that just hasn't been completed yet. I can see no other reason to put the tarp back on after removing it for a brief time and getting so much positive response.

Can we get someone to post news from the booth?

Hey, all you folks at NAB, do you mind stopping in the ODEMAX booth and posting some news? Thanks!!

I am amazed to see the Odemax sign on the Red booth. Red keeps saying they are not Odemax. Odemax is not listed as an official NAB exhibitor last time I checked. There is news about the Redray. The Red store still lists it as Coming Soon. but the store now lists the price at $1750.

Because companies who are working with other companies never allow the other some space in their exhibition space, oh no wait it's perfectly normal.

Of course it is. However, seldom do you see the booth constructed with the other companies sign though. Its usually a placard and communicated news to come see us at the BIg Boy booth. Odemax didn't even twit that they will be or are at the Red booth. The latest still is they are sick at Sundance. I will be buying the Sony server at $699 which in Reds Redray words Coming Soon.

The same 2 page website or something more?

More. He went thru how it all works from the website. I'll ask him tomorrow to post here, If not I will take pictures

I spent about 15 minutes talking to the Odemax demo guy. Actually, he really wasn't your typical trade-show demo nerd. This guy claimed to have written the software for Odemax. He had what appeared to be a functional Odemax program running, and he demonstrated the steps involved in building an Odemax channel, (sort of like one of those canned web-site templates), and some of the various features he claimed were built into the program, such as tracking and analytics. The unfortunate part was that he couldn't (or wouldn't) give me any information as to what happend with their launch, or exactly when it would be up and running.

Thanks for the update. Its a shame he wouldn't or probably couldn't give more details. But any news is better than no news. No sense speculating why, I can think of a whole lot of reasons, nothing good for Odemax but I will wait and watch to see what happens. I won't hold my breadth..

Based on a report posted elsewhere, a Odemax rep. at NAB said they will be starting the next phase of testing in a couple of weeks. Ted, from Red, said Red will be sending out Redray players to their beta testers shortly after the end of the NAB show. I would hope the Redray beta testing and the Odemax plans are coordinated such that the Redray beta testers will also be beta testers for the Odemax service. Ted implied in one interview from NAB (video posted online) that the Redray Beta test may be as short as one month duration after which they would be sending out the players to fill the online orders. I still have seen no info from Odemax as to what movies or studios are onboard for their distribution service.

It seems to me that the only reason they are not speaking is because they have to iron out some business stuff. They don't want to release all the details until it's all set in stone, this way, other companies can't copy their whole model and gives them the advantage to be ahead for a while longer than if they just came out and pitched everything to consumers.

After that I believe they will need content. From what I was hearing, and it makes a lot of sense, once all those things are ironed out, they will reach out to REDUsers and ask them for content, so when the service comes out of beta, consumers will be able to access not only a few films, but LOTS of content. I believe that is a good thing to wait for too.

All in all I was a bit skeptical about ODEMAX's silence these past few weeks, but it seems they want to do things right and try to screw up the least amount as possible. I walked away pretty excited, knowing that it's not a dead thing, but rather something that has a lot of thought put into it. Let's hope that's the case.

That makes sense but I am sorry it makes no sense for them not to answer their emails with something as simple as we are alive and working, very good things are coming, stand by. They have shown their colors as to what they feel is an appropriate way to treat potential end users and I will watch their progress but go elsewhere as will many other consumers I know. I agree they have no obligation to do anything but WTF neither does their market.
