I'm flying to LA on Friday to pitch a script I've been working on for a year to Warner Bros, Legendary, Village Roadshow, etc (at the writing expo) and I would really love to talk to someone who's successfully done a studio pitch. If you could PM me and let me either email or call you for some tips, I'd be really grateful.

Sean, I know a WGA member who does this blog: www.gointothestory.com

He's a very helpful guy. If you posted on the site or emailed him, I bet you'd get feedback. The blogsite is a GREAT resource, too. Everyone should visit it...he updates it daily with tons of good writing content.

D'oh. I meant "Shawn." :-)

Hi Shawn,

first, good luck, and second make a kill!

In my experiences, several, forget about enithyng you might have heard about the big boys and how badly they treat Writers on their desks, that is when they make it there.

I have a big issue, my stories are not for sale, very personal stuff, and the amount of both, Directorial control and the Final Cut, plus the rights to the projects, have made it impossible for me to make a deal, and this is why I'm finally producing the first feature "UNCONDITIONAL" as a private Independent Film.

But if you are to sale a Script and or sale both the script and you as DP, and or Director, then things are different, must have a strong short to the point Pitch of the story from possibly a one page Synopsis, capturing their attention is not easy but if the story is good and the format in which the script is written, is standard script writing with no fancy covers on the Script it self, unless artistic drawings etc. are and absolute necessity to the story itself, then you are already halfway.

Just been able to pitch a story is considered a victory by Hollywood standards:)

Again Shawn best of luck, as God has recently blessed you with your new son, hopefully will send your way an other little blessing for your project!

ciao
