Any reason not to go MMB-1?

I have both the MB20 and the MMB1 and while I love the MB20 I find myself using the MMB1 much more because of weight. For me it's nothing to pull it off vs. swing away of the mb20.

I have both the mmb1 and mmb2, and both with the Zacuto zwingaway adapter...it works very very well. Really liking the mmb2 and maybe even a little more than the mmb1 but they both have pros and cons for little lightweights but with the swing away function its a great solution. The mmb1 also has the larger 143mm back end substitute for my 18-85 Red zoom and it works great.

So the MMB1 works with the RPZ 18-85 and the MMB2 does not?

I received two "Top Load" MMB-1's today...but only one tray is top load...the second tray is is side load. Is this correct or am I missing something?

That is correct. In general, the only time it makes a difference is with a graduated filter, which usually is only used with a rotating stage. As there is only one rotating stage then there is only the need for one stage to top load.
