So I just shoot, and send the footage to someone else to process, so I have not used Redcine much lately.
But today I tried to render out one shot for the director to see and sure enough, it froze halfway through.
Using the latest version of Redcine. Build 16 on camera. Macbook Pro.
Argh.

I've been getting this problem as well. Several times, it's been freezing partway through a shot, and then the same freeze-frame is covering all subsequent shots. It's making using RedCine a much more user-intensive experience.

This is with the most current version of RedCine (3.1.2) on a Mac Pro 8 core, with the most recent QuickTime codec, and with Build 16 footage (Build 3.2.5). I have never encountered this before with RedCine; the version before this was extremely stable and reliable.

Thanks, Red Team, for checking into this. Let me know if you need any additional info.

This has been going on for months. I haven't used Redcine much lately either, because of this kind of thing. Last time I used it, it was working fine, though, after learning from this forum to turn airport off. Seems to work for me.

This build is the first time I've seen this behavior. Thanks for the note on airport, though I never have airport on on my RedCine machine (Mac Pro 8 core).

I put everything through RedCine as I want more control over the image than I get with the proxies, and RedAlert is not for batching. I don't want to mess with command line either. Hope this issue can be figured out soon.....

Actually, Mr. Pancake :-), I've had this same issue on the mac, too, when trying to output just one clip when there are other clips in the project.

Don't hog the bugs. They happen once in a while on macs, too.

well, "redcine reset", that i've found on the forum seems to be a cure,
the only thing is, i need to save the setup every time i exit the program, but any way - it is working somehow )

We have the mojo to make it work. Affordable transcoding services available. ;)

I'm also having the freeze issue with red cine, I'm on leopard 10.5.4, the latest version of red cine and quicktime 7.5

Mac 8 core tower with 10gb of memory and a 4 disk raid 5.
