  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Any one see REDROCK mattebox

Hi Muroshi - Are you asking if we plan on selling the knobs separately? Eventually we will offer them as a standalone item. If you aren't sure, you can never go wrong by ordering black. It may not be the most flashy, but you won't see any reflections.

How would they distract you exactly? It's just a knob, haha! Nobody on set is ever going to be distracted by a couple of red knobs on a camera's mattebox unless they were hallucinating and/or drunk.
 
Does EVS have the one with the latest improvements or is it pre-NAB?

Question for Brian V[redrock micro]. Do the carbon fiber rods ship in a matte black? How much is an additional handle for the shoulder mount? Thanks.
 
Thanks Brian. I just spoke with Ryan at EVS and he said the opposite. Just FYI. I don't want anyone being misinformed. I'll be checking out the redrock mattebox again tomorrow since I'm in EVS' neighborhood.

By the way, I found out Red's 18-85mm will not fit on the Petroff (it's 136 or something like that). score one for redrock.
 
I was there today and saw the MB for the second time and was told that it was a pre-improvements model. There were parts that are going to be matte black and not glossy like the one they have there is.

Not at the moment - we are still focused on getting everyone their mattebox, and then we can look at what's next. Definitely one of the more requested sizes for filter trays

Hi all. . .

I just put up my "golden" Redrock mattebox (one of the first 50 reservations), and let me tell you this: This thing is simply amazing. And it is utterly incredible for the money. WHAT A GREAT PIECE OF KIT!

Now, I have never used an Arri, but I just can't imagine NOT buying this mattebox. It's just incredibly well-made and engineered.

I'm absolutely sold!!!!

What was the verdict on whether this matte box can adequately cover the Red 300mm and the 18-85mm?
