  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Any one see REDROCK mattebox

I have got some 15mm rods of my SGpro 35mm-adapter. However, I will buy myself a scarlet and Red seems to support 19mm rods and I maybe like to adapt it. Is there a way to use your 19mm mattebox with 15mm rods in the meantime?

Will your MB work with the Red's 18-85?

Is the final version ready to be seen in LA? I was thinking of getting the petroff in a week or so, but I wanted to hold off to look at redrock's again because I like their mentality.

That's funny-I just posted that same question to Brian on the RedRock forum.

Hey Brian, I just got my invoice from RRM saying that I had been charged for my mattebox. Does that mean it should ship out in the next few days? Or are you all just going ahead and charging all the cards at one time? My order is #CS7144

I posted this hear because I thought other people who ordered might like to know also.

Thanks, and looking forward to the mattebox! (got the lens and will have the mattebox soon, now I need my RED!)

The easiest and least expensive would be to get the 15mm swing-away arm version (or the 15mm arm accessory) and just use that until you get your Red and move to the 19mm version. Swapping between the two is very easy

Hey Brian
I just ordered the matte box and I went with the 15mm rod setup. I figure I'll just get a 15mm 60 centered to 100 offset adapter. I'm not running 19mm here on the west coast. I ordered the deluxe set since I have no need of a 19mm rods option. I saw Finner asking for the 15mm offset option and I'm seconding that. Also, will we get a bellows that fits 114mm for our red lenses?

Hi SF Geek

We don't have a bellows in the works - I assume you mean the donuts - the largest is 104mm and can be cut to fit a larger opening. We are considering adding a extra "blank" donut that can be cut to any size.

Brian,

What is the waiting time for someone who's ordering today ? (the 19mm version)

thanks

Hello,

Just ordered. Woo hoo!

Looking forward to it.

Best,

ATF

Hi Antoine

Roughly it's about 45-50 days. Slightly improved from NAB but still a lot of reservations to fill.

Hi ATF - thanks for your business, we appreciate it.

Brian

So no more 60 day wait time then Brian? Thats good news.. I sent you guys cash a day after NAB so I wasn't planning on it until June 15-ish..

Looking forward to another revolutionary product!

Richard

Delivery from NAB orders still around June 15th - people who order now will be have a slightly shorter lead time, but will receive the mb well after you/other NAB-timeframe orders. Also since you're local you are welcome to come check out the microMB here at RRWest anytime.

Hi Muroshi

The arm swapping is simple - see this picture

micromb_arm_adjust.jpg

1. loosen the knob that holds the microMatteBox to the swing-away arm
2. slide out the two mini-rails from the arm
3. remove the arm

Using the 19mm arm just reverse the steps to attach the microMB to the new arm.

see if I understand...

see if I understand...

Brian, so with the 19mm arm you just slide the same mini rails back in, tighten them and you're RED' to go..correct?

Very nicely done, Brian. I can't wait.

Hi Jaadgy - yes. It takes about a minute to do this.

Thanks

Brian
