  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Any news on the Red drives? 19mm Baseplates?

I received my RED one a month ago but I haven't been able to use it because the Red drive and the 19mm Arri basteplate hasn't arrived yet... I heard that the order is being fulfilled by late November. Well it's already 11/28 and I still haven't heard anything yet. I would love to use my new RED but it is useless without these critical items! Hope it arrives soon.

Also, I must say that your shopping engine on the online store is not functioning well. I made a order and changed it couple of times only to find that you shipped couple of things I have cancelled. Your E-mail responses are quite horrible too! I made couple of enquiries on my order and got responses a week later... I know you people are very busy but I think customer service is essential part of any business. Since I live abroad, the extra cost of shipping and the extra time I lose really hurts...
 
Yes I am in the same boat...only my partial order only came about a week and a half ago. I wish the RED gods would shine and send me a tracking number soon.
 
me too. I placed my deposit along with the cam in march and paid in full 5 weeks ago. got everything but the drive and case. I trust these guys are working as fast as they can to get stuff out to us. They respond like lightning when theres a problem. But damn I wish I had a drive so I could actually use the camera rather than making loan payments on paperweight.
 
We should be all caught up on RED-DRIVES early this week. Please email Brian Byrne at brianb - at - red - dot - com if you have not gotten an email from him saying yours is ready to ship by Wednesday PST.

ARRI 19 mm BASES are still on backorder and should be ready to start shipping within a couple of weeks.

and the solid state Red Ram, and the EVF's....should I send an email to brian about those too....cause its frustrating to see that the EVFs are shipping yet I am not receiving
 
Well it's mid-December and I haven't heard anything on the Arri 19mm baseplate, 16GB CF card, and the Red Drive. I hear people are already receiving the CF card and the Red Drive but I haven't heard anything from RED... Anyone receive their 19mm baseplate recently?

Man... If I've known the Arri 19mm baseplate was backordered to begin with, I would have ordered the base production pack... And when I come to think of it, I ordered the RED drive months ago and I don't understand why someone else is receiving the drives ahead of me... I hate to complain but it just does not seem fair... Can you at least tell me when the items are going to arrive because I have to start booking some rentals.
 
got an email from brian b today.

They are out of the office on Wednesday and Thursday but hopefully they will start shipping the drives and 16GB cards next week or two.

I didn't ask about the 19mm base though.

Rowland, please contact your BOMB SQUAD rep directly or Brian at brianb - at - red - dot - com and they can give you an update. It could be that an email may have been missed or caught up in a junk folder along the way. Either way, RED-DRIVE is off of backorder so Brian can get your order out to you.

I know REDUSER is a great tool to share information and such. But the quickest way to get answers is to contact us. if you do not hear back on your email for over one business day, then give us a call. So am I somehow just missing something? For the last 3 months I have been told the red drives would be available in the next few weeks, but still nothing.
Our 8GB CF cards (while great) are starting to get annoying especially now that we've spent enough money renting another red raid to just pay full price for it.
I realize waiting is part of the program that I signed up for, but it's a little frustrating when every couple weeks I get told, "just another couple weeks" and still nothing.
 
Stefan, RED-DRIVES are available in limited quantities right now. So, please contact Brian Byrne per my post you quoted so he can assist in getting yours out. Feel free to cc me at brent - at - red - dot - com .
