Any Gate Shadow Updates/Fixes?

I'm just wondering if there has been any progress with the gate shadow issue. I've been too busy to send in my Epic for the upgrade yet, but I'm running out of time as they're shutting down the lines soon. But I'm nervous about having to work around the gate shadow and CMOS smear issues which seem to pop up in what are very typical lighting conditions in my shooting. Thanks in advance for any info and experience anyone might be able to share.

I waited until this past November to upgrade for these very reasons (also wanted the interchangeable OLPF system in place). I haven't run into gate shadow personally, and while it may have been lessened with the interchangeable system, I don't know if it's completely gone. Perhaps someone else can chime in? CMOS smear is still present for sure. It can be a bummer for sure, saw it present the first time I fired up the camera after the upgrade...don't ever recall seeing it on MX. It's a tough decision...the DR and color are definite improvements over MX, but it's not without its drawbacks re: smear. I guess the question is how badly do you need to go to dragon for the work you do?
