  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Any DPs in Sacramento, CA?

Thanks to everyone that has shown interest- I should clarify though-
I work with very modest budgets on commercial work (mostly) in Sac., that is the only reason why I specify the area. If you think you might be willing to travel there- then please contact me. But, just to reiterate, I work very modest budgets.

Thanks Joseph! Can't wait to see some of the great toys you got coming soon!

Yeah Mike its seriously going to be cool. I have my military specifications helicopter going to be ready in 12 weeks. (Unless I can get the payload to be increased it will be longer) - I waited for 4 weeks for my RED Camera to get to my door, Im sure I can wait 12 weeks.

(good for HD 1080 but mixing with RED workflow will be a compromise, BUT IT WILL LOOK COOL !!!

I am really glad you and Erik and Torrey helped me out with my fashion shoots with those shoes. Same RED video footage will be used for Brochures, Website stills, and Posters.

Raul, I will have 5 tribal members trained on the RED , they already know Final Cut Pro but they are not ready to be DIT or DP yet, unless ya wanna have a bunch of up and coming student work. 4 of the shooters in RED this summer are between 8 and 19. My little boy (8) loves the follow focus. (its like a video game to him). We were shooting at the capitol the other day in Sacramento. EVER see a Red Flyer Wagon with a RED camera on it?? - oh it was hilarious !

But seriously, just because the kids have RED cameras really does not peg them as operators , DIT , or DP by any means yet. Like i tell most folks, "just because a kid has the $200 Micheal Jordan's Shoes, it doesnt mean he has Michaal Jordan's GAME"..

Mike is an excellent source. Mike and crew helped me on interviewing the top Native American leaders in the country the other week and It was a deep honor to have the leaders there and Mike was very observant of the stature the Tribal Chairman's and Tribal Elders carried..

That's awesome Joseph! I am sure they will be pros soon enough 8)
Keep in touch- I mentioned to Mike that all us Sac redusers should stick together. You never know when you,re going to need an extra Red something. It is great to know others close by are not only working with Red, but training too!

Yeah it will be pretty cool. I am going to start a RED Usergroup for Native Americans.. REDtribe (dunno how RED.com legal team would feel about that yet.. but I hope it would be cool) -- not like they are going to sue a bunch of 15 year old kids - hope not.

Yeah having an extra RED would be cool around the block. I personally got mine (I budgeted $90,000.00 for this month. ) and the kids will get their own RED cameras as they feel comfortable.. and if not they can just stick with their HD cameras and steadicams. = but we dont do like large films, we do cultural movies mainly. Mike helped out with that. He shot the President Obama Appointed Native American (um filmed him I mean).

Mike, I have 8 film projects I am slated for in July. Let me pull something together. What are you doing July 1st. The Red Hawk Casino (where my house used to be) is being covered by "Experience El Dorado" . I told them they can use the RED camera. If you want to schedule something I think it would be good to have multiple cameras. And give that show a better understanding of the Red Camera. It would be the first California Tribe to be shot with the Red camera in a Tribal Casino.

Oh wait, the second California Tribe.. the first one was shot by you and me at Cache Creek Casino (Rumsey Tribe). Funny that makes it 10 Red film spots shot on location at the Tribes. - So far I have been to 10 tribes in California and Nevada with the camera.

It's good to see that there are Red owners in Sacramento - I hope to join that group once the S35 Scarlet comes out.
