ANTON BAUER - to charge or not to charge?

Hey all, I have recently bought a few Dionic HC's, but after forking out so much for them, the idea of buying a $1100 charger is daunting... is it safe to charge AB batteries on 3rd party chargers?

For example I used to have B4B batteries in gold mount and the small compact charger was great, could I use that without damaging it?

I would not take the chance. Even some of the older Anton Bauer chargers do no work with some of the newer batteries.

I have done it in a pinch, but I wouldn't make it your primary charger. I'd get the correct charger for the batteries.

Most older Anton Bauer chargers can be upgraded with a new firmware chip for a small fee. Ask Anton Bauer which models you can upgrade for Dionic HC.

Anneso. I have a spare dual gold mount charger. It is the previous model before the recent cosmetic do-over but it is the intelligent type etc which is best for safe charging. If you are interested I can take a couple of pix for you. Could let it go for 350.00 not incl shipping.
