Anyone could coment about the new EF mount of this lens and the new 21mm?

Who did they compare to the 85mm L or 24mm L from Canon?

Silly question, but what about if i want to use these lens of a still camera D3x for example? Is it convenient for street photography and studio shoot?

thanks!

Do the Duclos front rings have filter threads?

I am interested in screw in filters for handheld work..

Perfect!

Hey Matthew,

What is the process (and cost) of getting Nikon Zeiss ZFs declicked, ringed and geared?

is Duclos Lenses and rplens.com the same company?
Does anyone know if the focus throw on the new zeiss manual lenses with eos mount is the same as on the contax zeiss lenses? Pros and Cons? I don't know if I should go with the new Zeiss lenses with eos mount or the old zeiss contax lenses...

Jim, If I'm not mistaken, I've spoken with you via email already.
Sorry if this post is after I've already given details. I don't frequent REDUSER as much these days. Especially this past week.... I've been stuck on a Cooke 18-100mm that isn't cooperating.

Personally, I LOVE the Zeiss ZF lenses (or any mount). They are built solid, no plastic parts. The viscosity/drag on the focus is soooo nice. They easily cover a full frame still camera sensor. The focus scale rotation is about 215 degrees on the 50mm 1.4. An excellent alternative to the high price tag of cine-glass.

Well at this point Zeiss only has 3 lenses in ZE "AKA EOS Mount".
21/2.8
50/1.4
85/1.4

And if memory serves, there are 45 lenses available in Contax Mount.

I have been very pleased with my Zeiss Contax set.
There are still a number of lenses I'd like to add to the set, but at this point here's what I'm shooting with.

16/2.8 Fisheye Zenitar
18/4 Zeiss Contax
20/2.8 Zeiss Jenna
25/2.8 Zeiss Contax
28/2 Zeiss Contax
28/2.8 Zeiss Contax
35/1.4 Zeiss Contax
35/2.8 Zeiss Contax
45/2.8 Zeiss Contax
50/1.4 Zeiss Contax
60/2.8 macro Zeiss Contax
85/1.4 Zeiss Contax
135/2.8 Zeiss Contax
200/3.5 Zeiss Contax
300/4 Zeiss Contax
Mutar I 2X Zeiss Contax
19-35/3.5-4.5 Vivitar Series 1
28-70/3.5-4.5 Zeiss Contax
28-85/3.3-4.0 Zeiss Contax
35-70/3.4 Zeiss Contax
70-200/2.8 Sigma

Hmmmm, I just looked at pictures of the new Zeiss lenses with canon mount. Looks like they have no manual aperture unlike the nikon version. That would be a disappointment. Can anybody confirm?
