  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Another RED Wedding

Beautiful video... especially loved the look of the lighting/grading in the reception. Also, great shallow DOF outside. Sigur Ros is a great go-to for celebratory & emotional music.

A few things I feel are nit-picky and completely from my perspective at this time, but if you're looking for critiques, here you go...
- I wouldn't use the slider on every B-roll/establishing shot in the intro. It felt like you're showing off a new toy, or you charged extra for it & are making it worth their money. The opening 2 shots are perfect, I would've gone more subtle with the motion in the next few shots (rose bouquet & cake shot #1).
- The rack focus from the bride to the best man... kinda makes it look like the best man really wanted to be with her, and is now forced to live a life of solitude. Or he's going to get revenge in the sequel. Or maybe he's just her brother, and is happy for the couple... just my first impression as an outsider.

My favorite shot is the one in the reception where she's talking/toasting/singing to him (can't tell due to the lack of sound) at :41. The lighting on her face, and the contrast between that shot & the ones immediately around it... it was just beautiful.

As it stands now, I think even the pickiest bride-zilla would be overjoyed with that final product. Great job!
 
Really nice! Only suggestion I would have, is to at the end maybe start cutting a bit faster as the music intensifies. Just a thought. Great piece nevertheless!
 
NICE .. I loved the slider on every B-roll/establishing shot. sweet. For a montage keep the images in reel time line the day start to fin. Make a cute day in the life montage.
Slow mo the huggy kissy and brighten up the church in Red cine, more shots people having fun. Knock them dead !!!

I think that's the one of the bridesmaids, possibly the maid of honor. The bride is wearing a veil, a different necklace and doesn't have a flower in her hair.
 
Way too much head room in many shots.
