  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Another Music Vid - Frazier Lens

We didn't really shoot in the rain, only rigged during the showers. Although a couple of the car shots were done when it was still very lightly showering, but the camera was wrapped up pretty tight. I think the worst effect of the rain was a little condensation on one of the ND filters.

Is the Fraizer lens meant for work where it would be hard to get a normal lens in? Also, is the Fraizer what I normally see in pictures shooting food?

Matthew

I know the lens is used a lot in miniature photography and for some other specialist shots. Food stuff seems like a likely candidate. We used it for extreme low angles (there will be a CG element added to those shots) and to create some unusual looks. It certainly make is possible to put the lens in place that would be hard to get it normally, and it's length has interesting effects with tilting and panning, where it appears almost more like a track than a pan.

Looks like the V-mount held well even nearly upside down on those steep tilt down shots!

I think we flipped the battery plate around on that setup, although maybe not - we certainly did on some where gravity was not on our side with the mount. And, of course, Gaffer tape holds all.

I will be forthcoming with some stills from footage in the next few days - and who knows, maybe I can even find a few quicktimes to offer up?

All very good.

Thanks.

That's a... Well, an alluminum pipe, steel knucle, polyprop foam and ratchet strap rig. The other one is a polyprop foam, sash cord, ratchet strap and gravity rig.

Both utilised gaffer tape and cable ties to some extent, I am sure.

There's a CG element going into the front of the shot - focus is set for that. There are a couple of better takes later too, but that's the one I grabbed when I was in the office :)

You'd think so... But who knows what'll it all turn out like... In the end weather delays meant that two whole locations were dropped, and an entirely new part was shot. Also a variety of angle were never able to happen...

That said, what I saw in the edit suite today (on Avid, I love Avid... Still not at all convinced by FCP) looked great and seemed like it would still pan out pretty well.

You did what with my Camera:)

You did what with my Camera:)

If I'd known you and Luke were going to do THAT with my Camera.....:)

Cheers

Michael

Does your Fraizer comes with a PL mount at the camera side? Does it have a PL mount on its other end or does it have its own lenses?
