  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Thanks Martin, me too! I'm going to try another one using volumetric light, two people interacting and some camera movement next. (1080p version should be up now...download for a good look at noise or lack there of - although vimeo has destroyed my lower mid tones and blacks with re-compression)

Have you tried using a small LED light source stuck to the front of the phone, or a white (or colour balanced lol) page/screen on the phone cranked up to maximum brightness, to light up the subjects face a bit more when they're looking at the phone? Would be interesting to see what kind of low-light capability illusion that could create.
 
Thanks Les :) And no man, I haven't tried an additional led light but this phone was the only one we had at the time that wasn't flat! And even then, it was at low battery so the screen couldn't be set to full intesnsity. A full intesnsity galaxy s5 is super bright..... That would have been cool :)
