  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A couple of questions/concerns.

I seem to recall being able to save calibration maps (calmaps) for different shooting settings. For example, I'd like to have four -- 4k/24 at 1/48th, 3k/48 at 1/96th, 5k/1fps at 1/250th and 5k/1fps at 1/2th... However, when I go into Black Shade Calibration, I can only select between Factory and UserHS (only two?) and factory seems to be hard-locked to whatever RED set it at.

So the first question is: is there any way to save different cal-maps/black shades for multiple (3-5?) different shooting settings? If so, how?

My other concern is with my "factory" or Black Shade Calibration (non-Current Settings), the default is 37c at 1/42th? YEAH, 1/42, not 1/48th... I know that's not a huge difference (and the cam shouldn't require a black shade going from 1/42 to 1/48), but is it not supposed to be 1/48th?

So question two is: Is there a way to change the factory black shade settings?

Nope, there is just one slot for a user calibration map and the factory black shade settings can't be changed.
I tend to think that black shading is a bit overrated, i wouldn't go so far to say that i need multiple cal-maps.

Here is when i do blackshading:
- after a firmware upgrade (with default settings)
- in preparation for a big shoot (with the settings i use for that shoot most)
- bigger environment changes, especially temperature (with default settings)

Thats it and after reading lots of other bs-threads i think even that is a bit excessive. ;)
