  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Announcing Scarlet-W

i do wish the raven had a stills mode that saved jpegs, just for scouting and boards, it was basically all i used my 5d for anymore and that's why i sold it, a week later, next scout, the email came "can you bring a 5d or something for the scout?"
 
A good portion of brain only people will be doing this all week.

Haha i I sold my gh4 last week and since I've needed one 3 times... Good thing I do a lot of favors so I got one but yah need the scarlet soon

I'm still waiting too for an email for my Epic-X upgrade to Weapon MG. I ordered the upgrade the very first morning of NAB last April, so I'm sure there are plenty of people in line behind me.

I'm also a very early (first day of Raven pre-orders) Scarlet-W buyer. I don't expect to hear anything about the Scarlet-W for a couple of weeks yet.
 
I just processed with my bomb squad rep the final deposit for the Weapon MG this morning. I ordered morning of NAB last april and have an Epic-M #01211. Just to give you all an idea of where the MG orders are at.

Thanks, Sam. Based on that, it sounds like they have not even begun calling the Epic-X to Weapon MG upgrades yet...
 
Also, the turntable for me is looking to be about 2 weeks from the time the camera is received at RED headquarters, passes thru evaluations, paid for final deposit, upgraded and then back on doorstep of my home. After you pay for the final deposit of the package you then need to wait 1-2 days before the accessory credit is applied (if applicable) to your account and then you can purchase any goodies you've had your eye on and those are then shipped separately from the camera. I really wish I was getting a v-lock expander with the camera like the scarlet and raven peeps...but will be looking to offload my redvolt module to buy some third party solutions.

its too bad they didnt include at least a couple of batteries with your XL modules, since no one is going to buy those batteries they basically are going to be sending out 100s of useless modules, every single person i know that got a weapon pkg is selling or basically giving away that module. you basically have to buy batteries that are way more expensive then v mounts, so spend over 1000 dollars on batteries that are not compatible with anything else.
i was offered one for free from my camera house, then i looked up how much the batteries were and i said eh, ill stick with the vlock expander when it gets here.
but if the pkg just came with 2 batteries, i would of jumped on it for a good price. oh well, who knows why they did that.
 
Has Red clarified whether or not early adopter package purchasers will receive their scarlet-w brain in February or if everything be delivered all together perhaps in March?
I remember my Scarlet Mx #049 package delivery was staggered as a few items were back ordered . . .
 
March for package. Date subject to change as it's an estimate.

Great to hear! Also, by "ready" does that mean the pre orders should start rolling out pretty fast after the first is allocated? I'm late January so I'm assuming I'm far from the front but I'm not sure if that means 2 weeks wait or 2 months.
