Have a shoot comping up and plan to use a lightweight zoom instead of primes.

Anyone used the Optimo 30 - 76 wide open? Is there purple highlight fringing etc or is it clean?
I'll be shooting with shaped available light at times so speed is important. I can live with T2.8 if it's totally useable. Wish there was a legit fast lightweight Cine Zoom...

How does the Arri Alura 30 - 80 compare? I've heard that the Optimo is a nicer, more filmic image.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

For optical performance in that focal range, I'd highly recommend the Zeiss CZ.2 28-80mm. CA is virtually non-existent, even wide-open. And even when you can create it (by shooting ludicrously high-contrast edges) it's a blue/orange instead of purple/green, and much less obtrusive (I've never actually seen CA from the newer Zeisses on anything but blown-out skies bordering on silhouetted window sills).

The bokeh from the 18-blade iris is also deliciously creamy.

I owned the Optimo DP zooms for a few years and they are fantastic lenses. The new Style zooms replace them, but are the same lenses only with redesigned rears for different mount options and less protrusion of the rear elements. Have also used the updated Style zooms some and the classic Optimo series zooms as well. All of them are fantastic, even wide open. Coverage on 6K is a bit of an issue on some of the wider focal lengths. Which is really the main reason I sold my Optimo DP set. I figured I would have the 8K VV upgrade a while back and sold them to move to a set of Sigma FF cinema zooms. ...still waiting on the VV upgrade and I miss my Optimo DP set. The optimos are killer on the 8K Helium sensor.

It covers 5.5K all the way through.
It will cover 6K in the longer ends of the lenses.

Thanks gentlemen. What primes match up best with Optimos and Styles, in your experience?
