What's the going purchase price for a used 24-290? Several people know I'm considering the lens. I was offered one today by email. By the time I opened my emails this AM and got back to the seller, it was sold. This has happened twice to me in last 60 days.

What is normally included with the lens? Case? Bridge support?

There was a thread on mounting the 24-290 last year. How difficult is it to find the longer base plate required?

Thanks all.

Hi Tim, We have one 24-290 now but it is very high in price because it is like new and there is no waiting time. Prices are very high also because of the great demand for this lens. When buying new you have to purchase a lot of accessories which add significantly to the price. We have never sold one for less than 50K and have sold as high as 59K. The one we have now can be had for 58K and includes case, handle, bridge support, 15mm rods, and motor mount.

Fred, thanks for the info. Since I posted yesterday, it was privately suggested that I wait until NAB where Angenieux is supposed to be introducing a new longer lens or lenses.

The Optimo is $60k +/- brand new, depending on what Angenieux feels like charging each morning when they wake up + exchange rate fluctuations

nothing is included with the lens, and accessories total about $3500 +/-

Its hard to find them used and rarely for better than 10% less than new pricing. For that reason its always best to buy new.

the 24-290 is a wonderful lens and worth every penny.
