I've got a Komodo / Angelbird card reader that won't show up on my macbook. I pulled footage from the RED branded card 2 weeks ago with this very system but now it won't even recognize the reader (the cards show up fine in the Komodo). Currently in Greenland trying to back up cards, but no love. Any thoughts? I have limited access to the internet, so I'll hop on tomorrow to answer any questions.

I had a similar issue earlier this year- on a long shot, I froze the card inside a sealed pelican case inside a ziplock bag for 20minutes, and captured the card after that with just finder- no shotput/hedge. That seemed to do the trick for me.

Since then I've stopped using angel bird cards- but I've got a few to sell if anyone wants them.

For me, I usually have to plug the Reader into the Mac and then insert the card. If I have the card in the reader and plug them to the Mac, it will not show up. Not sure if this is your issue but thought I'd chime in. Otherwise no major issues using Angelbird for the last 2 years.

Thanks Duncan and will. I'll try the freeze trick, but I don't think it's the card. The reader will not light up, nor will it show up in disk utility. I tried the USB-C to USB 3.0 adapter that comes with the card reader, but to no avail. It's pretty frustrating to have such a great camera but no way to get footage off the cards. I guess I'll have to wait to get back to the states to try it in a desktop.

Same here with the RED branded card and reader. Annoying.

To put a pin in this - I found the problem. The RED branded Angelbird card reader has a cable I assumed was hard wired into the reader. It is not - it detaches. Push the cable firmly into the receptacle and voila'! Green light comes on and the card is recognized. It was a 1d10t error...

Great to hear!
