[Emanuel A.]

Really sad news. I had notice of his death during a screening a few days ago in early December of the feature of a young moviemaker and his craft protégé. Where Monicelli had politely refused the invitation 'cause the disease and his delicate old age. «Do the party anyway!» said, quoted by G. Varlotta. To whom Monicelli had recently honored with a cameo in the short Nanà [ LINK ]. Only back home, one of my co-workers told me on the more dramatic end of his mortal life.

Monicelli will never be forgotten, his immortal work has simply been a complete reference of a full talented moviemaker to spot the mediocracy of nowadays.

Who will forget 'I Soliti Ignoti' after a first time?

"A comedy that is ironic,
sometimes bitter,
in some cases even dramatic,
tragic: This is what Italian comedy is,"

Monicelli, 95, once said.
