So, with the announcement of these new RPA (Which I hope to be using in a future shoot during spring of '11.) Is there any hope that the Scarlet models will gain a "de squeeze" anamorphic mode like the RED One and the Epics have?

Hey Tanner just wanted to say hey, I didn't even know you were a member of REDUSER, but thats awesome. Also are you planning on going to RED Day?

Hey man, it's good to hear from you. Yeah, I've been a member for a while.. but tend to peruse more than post.. Anyway I wanted to say thanks again for the rental, everything went perfectly.. sorry I couldn't be there for the drop off. Anyway.. I'd love to hit up RED day but at the moment can't justify the plane cost.. a bit bummed about it

I agree completely.. I would be extremely surprised if they put out there own anamorphics and then made it a terrible user experience on the Scarlets with their lenses. I'm just worried because the last time that RED posted specs on the Scarlets, they didn't have the anamorphic mode whereas the Epics did have that mode listed..

This is something I was curious about as well.

In the Steven Soderbourgh interview that was posted here the other day he mentioned that they used an anamorphic lens while shooting part 2. He said that it softened the somewhat unnatural sharpness of the image. I personally would love to shoot anamorphic on a scarlet s35, but certainly don't want to be dealing with a squeezed image.

I hope they don't keep that an Epic only feature.
