I know in the past that using anamorphics have been cot prohibitive in features down to their slow stops making lighting more expensive.
I'm curious though with red epic dragon at 2000 ISO does this make using anamorphics cheaper?
Is this down to anamorphics being difficult to acquire because there aren't that many out there?

Still expensive choice. Hawk V-lites have 2x and 1.33x squeeze options and while they are easier to get then Panavision options and others they are still pretty expensive. I wouldn't use ISO to compensate for the slower speed of anamorphics though thats just me....I mean if 2000 ASA with an anamorphic is cleaner than spherical on Epic then yeah but you'd have to test it. I'd really like to see more anamorphic films shot digitally, I find with the modern ones its more subtle, especially when its only 1.33x squeeze but it is still beautiful IMO.
