If you have an idle moment, this is what the image produced by a lens behind a front-anamorphic adaptor and a rear-anamorphic adaptor behind the lens looks like if a distressed cinemascope 2x look is your thing.

The things one does when the means are scarce. For the more moneyed players, an upcoming crop of affordable 2x anamorphic lens or folk who can rent 2x anamorphic lenses, this contrivance is not relevant.

The camera was a Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro. The Nikon lens was wide-open at f1.4. The Laowa rear- anamorphic is a one-off with Nikon F-Mount. The point of focus was the parked white car.

Please forgive the handheld shake. The location has a bit of a bad rep for unfortunate things happening so I darted out, pressed the button and then slunk back into the relative safety of the shopping centre.

I am still very much a learner driver with Resolve. The unsqueeze was left to Resolve and youtube to manage. On the first try, youtube put the frame inside of thick borders.

I pulled all the clips nto a new timeline and cropped the edges to restore a near-to correct stretch. The outdoors images with the Sigma 28mm are soft and there is CA and muddiness. The very last shot was at a tighter aperture and gained up in Resolve.
