  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

anamorphic on east coast

i didn't say i hate them, i just said that they have issues like anything else(but slightly more.)

seriously, u cant see anything wrong with the pics that u posted.

and u cant move the camera in some directions while there are lights in front it, u 'll be limitied with the camera movement and direction

and u cant compare them to master primes, right?

use them as an effect, not as the main cameras, that's what i was saying.
not through the entire movie.

i don't have issues with them, they have there own issues.

u can't afford me anyways, but it's true.

u wont be able to afford to make one ad campaign.

Sorry, I didn't realize I was debating with a nine year old. My apologies. To make up here's a nice picture for you. Look at all the pretty colours.

i watch naruto by the way.

okay, check the anamorphic image in the lcd and the evf, and pm the results.

Yes but that's why we're asking for a desqueezer in the cam, so we don't have to downconvert to squeeze it for viewing....

...and it's the result that counts and not how you get there... if you don't like the anamorphic look just say so, but there's plenty of people who does and that's where this thread was coming from.

It's really tiring when people ask for help with a specific matter because they're actually gonna shoot it for all different esthetic reasons and then always end up in a debate with that 1 person who happens to think differently. Not disrespecting your opinions but it's not creative for the one who's going to shoot it anyway. It's a different matter if that person is asking because he has no knowledge at all and wants all different opinions.

It's just like telling an architect to use plastic instead of glass because it's better, but the architect wants the esthetic of glass. Then tell him how he can make plastic truly look like glass and it might be interesting.

u know u can use a laptop as a monitor and use ur favorite program to change the aspect to whatever u want right?

zoom in, out, change the aspect ratio, make part of the image fit the screen, play with color and what not all with simple shortcuts.

it depends on what u want to do, if ur the dp, u would be doing the pre record check, u would connect directly to the red drive, make a raid 1, and check directly from the r3d file.(also good for backup, so u can check the quality, preview any changes in color u would apply, or adjust the light before the recording)

if ur the camera man, u connect to the hd monitor, i think there is an hd-sdi and an hdmi.
