  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Anamorphic Adapter?

I too are interested (if it gets me Blue Streaks that is:))... but there should be no problem, I think, to getting an 2:1 anamorphic adaptor built for 16mm projectors and set the Scarlet up for a 4:3 proportioned 2K crop. Don't know about the streaks, but I think it would give you the Bokeh.

If you want the cinemascope and full 3K width... then maybe there's some good 1.33:1 adaptors that give 2.35 final image on 16:9 sensors... the bokeh wouldn't be as dramatically oval as with 2:1 anamorph though.

If you don't want the squashed Bokeh or lens-streaks, then just crop it to cinemascope and export it anamorphically for the film-out.

Maybe Red is working on a special "FX"-filter that gives RED streaks and no squashed bokeh, clear enough to not intrude on the resolution and using the whole widescreen sensor...:)
