  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Anamorphic 4:3 sensor - for sale?

I heard a rumour about a lower cost variant of the larger VV-sensor, for accommodating 4:3 anamorphic S35 lenses. Are there any information available about this sensor? Can it be run on MG Weapon? What is the price? Can it be ordered? When will it ship?
 
It's true. 8K Weapon is now available in Anamorphic and Spherical variations, the latter being the full sized 8K sensor with Anamorphic having smaller horizontal dimensions. And with the reduction in sensor area for Anamorphic comes a reduction in failed QC probability. So they should be able to push out more cameras this way, not sure on cost differential. I'm personally waiting for the full-sized spherical one.
 
Can the weapon MG handle the smaller 4:3 sensor data rate? This could open up for us MG users another market : 2:1 anamorphic!

Guys I would not get your hopes up for this sensor option in the Mg Weapon. Even the anamorphic VV sensor is quite a bit larger than the 6K Weapon sensor. As I understand it, the same hardware needed to upgrade a 6K Carbon Weapon to 8K is still required for the Anamorphic option.
