  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

amc rubicon

i like it.. but it kinda started off weird.. slow and not giving enough detail as to what is going on

As it should be for a show about mystery and conspiracy.

Have really enjoyed it so far. Wouldn't be too surprised if they're shooting on Super 35, since both Breaking Bad and Mad Men shoot on film. No clue about the flares.

Everything I've learned about cinematography I've learned from beginner's photography and spending way too much time on REDUser this last year, but even I can see that Rubicon has some amazing talent working on it! Today's episode was superb!

Thanks for starting a thread on Rubicon, I'm a big fan! Really like the photography, I wish to God I could see it in HD with my free on demand service here in Canada. Yes I'm cheap.

The best parts of the show aren't the conspiracy or chase/gun danger elements - for me the strength of the show is in the minutiae of the day to day at API. Those are always my favorite scenes.

I almost wish they'd just solve the conspiracy quickly and move on with the more interesting business of hanging out with the characters.

Watched the first episode online Sunday. Very good intriguing show.
May wait for the rerun to catch them all in order though.
Definitely beautifully shot and edited.

It is Super 35 3-perf. Very nice, clean-looking show. I'm not sure who lights it, but I seem to recall Postworks/NY does the color timing on it.

It's very much a modern-day update of Three Days of the Condor, but well-done.

Thank you so much for bringing this up. Looks gorgeous, and the show looks very promising. Seems right up your alley Zak. Did you write it? ;)

Anybody know what lenses?

"Also, this story demands a lot of mystery, and film gives you that richness and texture in the blacks that I have yet to see in other formats.” - from the article

Oh, so true... I want a digital workflow though, so I am stupefied over HDR.
