Wondering when will this be available? Not sure I need or want Ti at this current time?

I do believe there will not be an aluminum PL mount.

Al 7075 is an extremely strong aluminum alloy and perfectly suited for all lens mounts. This is not exactly designing engine mounting brackets for the F-35 or landing gear for the B2. Beware current tech catch words, "Titanium","Carbon Fiber" that translate into $. All heavy lenses with any length must have additional support regardless of camera lens mounting material. Consumer stills lenses with their standard mountings will fail far before any lens mount on a professional cinema camera, film or digital will feel any distress at all.

Strength isn't the only factor in selecting a metal for a mount. How they handle temperature also is important.

Excellent point. That makes complete sense. :) I suppose any long telephoto lenses would have to be supported anyway.

The Epic update from July states that they are discontinuing the Epic PL mount option.

The RED One PL mount is problematic. The flange focal distance changes slightly with shifts in temperature. Enough so that calibrated focus marks shift. This does not help an AC do his/her job.

The Epic Ti Mount is much more stable.
