Hello.
I am looking for cheaper grids for our Chimera Softbox. Are there any other brands?
Thnx

Search by the size of your softbox. When I purchased my Chimera Video Pro Plus Small I searched for a 24x32' grid & there happened to be a 40 degree one made by impact for like $30 (there was some sale at b&h). It works the same as far as I can see although the Chimera brand grid is a much better quality one.

I bought a cheap set of florescent lights that came with softboxes. The first time I set them up, one of the ends of the rods fell off. The second time I set them up more ends fell of and I ripped through one of the seams. I gave the set to my client so they could stay set up. Worked great otherwise, but you get what you pay for in this case. Chimeras are American made, my still work as good as the day I bought them, including one I accidentally caught on fire.

I have chimeras (they are great) but I think 200 Dollars for the grid is simply to much!

Have received quite a few emails over the past couple of months related to this "special" Chimera has been offering - know this doesn't answer the OP question but thought I would throw in into the mix. It's only a few percentage points off the normal retailer prices. Never-the-less:
