Also, no NAB for Artbeats

[Phil Bates]

Like RED, Artbeats will not be exhibiting at NAB 2009, though perhaps for different reasons.

NAB is not delivering the results it used to for us. The last several years we have been seeing lower attendance and lower quality leads. We can no longer justify the cost when there are so many better marketing channels on which to spend those dollars. Trends are changing and we need to change with them.

NAB has been a big commitment for us for 12 years. It literally drains our company for months every year in preparation (not in just dollars, but manpower) and distracts us from footage production. The thought of directing those resources in new ways is very exciting and a huge relief.

Some of us will still attend NAB for meetings, sponsorships and such. So if you want to talk with us about representing your footage we are more than willing to meet with you there, just send me a PM.

Phil - I was hoping to finally meet you guys this year! Ah well, perhaps another time.

John, if you're going to be there, I can still meet you.

Phil, how about redirecting those duckets for a shoot in China. I've got my camera bags packed.

Just FYI, we will be at the NAB FCPUG Supermeet with a sponsorship table.

So many countries, so little time...

Oh good! Pencil me in; I will probably be there toward the end of the week, barring any sudden onset of the flu like last year...
