Received my Scarlet-X today on Valentines Day, and I'll have to say, I'm in LOVE! I feel like I've been waiting for this camera for my entire career, and it's truly inspiring to finally have it in hand.
I waited until today to open everything that has been shipping in over the last month, and I have been so impressed with the quality of what I received. Just blown away with how well RED
designs and builds their gear. To everyone still on backorder, the wait is worth it, never doubt that for a second! This camera is literally a dream come true.

Thanks to the amazing REDuser.net community, I have spent much of the time before and since ordering November 3rd learning as much as I can here about the workflow, lenses, support gear, etc.
Along the way, I have also received daily inspiration from the collective wisdom that is freely shared by other users, and it is my goal to contribute what I can from my experiences with this amazing technology.

Mahalo Nui Loa to Jim, the RED Team and all of you on REDuser. Big things are happening here, and I'm humbled and inspired to be a part of this adventure.

The best Valentines gift:thumbup: Congrats Jeff, good pictures!

congrats Jeff! looks like you're all set to shoot. What are you using for audio? I see the A-Box but can't tell what it's connected to.

Hi Jeff. Congratulations!! And you have reveived everything!! Lucky guy.
I have the serial number #584 and i did not receive the side handle... :(

I am planning on using dual system for audio, and pictured on top of the outrigger handle is the Sennheiser G2 100 receiver unit plugged into the A-Box. Hoping to use the
receiver to monitor and backup record wirelessly, also have a Rode NTG2 with phantom power, although I haven't yet had a chance to test the audio system at all yet.

Yeah, I actually do feel pretty bad for everyone who hasn't gotten all their stuff yet. I ordered around 3 hours after the Scarlet Package went live on Nov. 3rd.
Hang in there, the side handle is a great piece of kit and I'll bet you get it soon. Stay in touch with your Rep, though, just in case something got overlooked.

Thanks Jeff.. Yea I have the NTG2 as well and although phantom power isn't enabled we can use batteries in the Rode mic.. It should work just fine!

Congrats! I didn't know the side handle came in it's own case with a microfiber bag?

Thanks Robert! The case was a nice touch with the side handle, but I actually don't think I'll use it much as the side handle just feels
so right connected to the brain. I pulled the foam out and repurposed the case for my SSD reader and cables instead. Not a perfect fit,
but keeps all the bits together and keeps it dry.

I agree. I wouldn't use it much, but it is nice to have just in case. Who knows a client may want to rent the brain only or you may find yourself not needing or wanting the side handle for applications. I'm glad it comes with it!

BTW: I looked at the sensor/OLPF area after seeing that RED is offering a fix for flare issues, and my Scarlet #1177 does appear to have a factory installed fix in place.
It looks like they are installing the frame around the OLPF painted matte black, and I can't see anything shiny at all in the light path.

Jeff,
That plate are you using to cover the Redmote mount on the back of the cam? I am trying to decide what to get as I dont have a need for a redmote.

Nice set up!

Thanks, Will :)
It's a plate made by REDUser Dave Weber: http://www.atomic13.com/
He doesn't show it on his website, but the plate locks on the Scarlet back and can just hang there without the screws. I did need to slightly widen one of the holes so the screws would line up perfect, but other than that small problem it's working great.

By any chance... Scarlet Letter... Hester's daughter?

Thanks, Will :)
