  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

AllSteady 7 --- Three Axis Gimbal for only 3k

Thanks, love to meet you at NAB. Enjoy!

Ed

I like a lot of things about what you are doing: solving unaddressed issues that some current gimbals have. I like that you are located in the O.C. I think your gimbal is nice looking compared to many other gimbals out there, but the latest BS4 is the best looking gimbal I've ever seen.

I like your price point. I like your confidence. You guys will succeed, I have no doubt. I will definitely be at NAB this year to meet you guys and give it a try. I don't have time to oversee a group buy right now, but perhaps someone else would be willing. Plus, my heart already belongs to BeSteady :)

I wish you guys nothing but success!

Hello Ed..thank you for your quick answer. I can't see the elite heavy duty version for fully loaded epic with zoom lens on the kickstarter page?

Yes..wish the kickstarter page had photos or a more concise list of the differences between the packages on there...the descriptions are so long it's kind of a blur.

It looks like on the right hand side of the page where you can see the pledge options, you can see the differences between the Kit, Deluxe, Elite, and Cinema versions of the gimbal.

Would be interested in a group buy. The kickstarter is fine, but a reduser vetted group buy would be better. Hope someone close to the company location considers taking it on?

The great gimbal race continues indeed Carey lol…

Best of luck gentlemen…there is a lot of room for improvements in this space and I look forward to seeing your take on it and the solutions you engineer.

BTW, are your brushless motors optically encoded or do they freewheel?

Thank you.

agree with Nikhil :)

I pm'd this question-

Hi, I shoot with both a C500 and 1D C and sometime in future Red Dragon. What would you suggest as Gimbal and Copter that I could get now or very soon. I need something soon, would love to get when at NAB.

And received this answer-

"We are shipping the Infinity 9, one of world largest octocopter that is foldable. You can see it at www.turboace.com
we are releasing 3 models of the AllSteady series stabizer and Kickstarter has only one of them. The AllSteady 8 is the group buy we are planning.
I am wondering what will be an attractive price and what kind of deal guys got on the BeSteady-4 group buy if that is okay for you to hint us. The gimbal is a super improved version from our AllSteady-1, BeSteady-1, 4 and Movi. There are at least major improvements make over each of them and we will go over them one by one and explain the difference. Mainly tube slipperage, ease of adjustment, slop and support bearings, just to name a few".

So it does look like there is some kind of group buy in the works, for yet another version of the Allsteady- the 8.

I don't know what kind of deal people got on the Besteady-4, anybody willing to chime in? And what would be an attractive price on a group buy?

Scott, you admit that you got this info from a "pm". Do you know what the "p" stands for in "pm"?

We don't have the Suumilux at our disposal but I do know the AllSteady 8, our newest version which may be in a reduser group buy program will carry the Red with Canon 70-200 F2.8 which is pretty long and heavy. It can carry the Sony SF700 so the arms are extra long to balance long heavy lens.

Ed

I have a set of the Summicron-C's and a Dragon to test W&B while I'm with them. I'm in North County San Diego. PM me if you want to get together. I'm looking for a rig that is iPhone easy to use. No interest in a command line style interface, easy to disrupt gyros or a 10+ minute set-up. I have seen the Gstabie and was not impressed with the twitchy/bitchy behavior. Maybe we need another year for ease of use and robust design to be there.

Yes I do. If you notice in the "PM", there is a reference to "what kind of deal guys got...", therefore I felt it was open to public discussion. The PMer was asking for info from others that I didn't have. Also the Allsteady 8 had been mentioned before.

Hey guys,

I work for Ed Lin and he is okay with the information in this PM being posted in the forum. It was only sent as a PM as a response to Scott's PM. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Point taken and addressed.

So, there is an interest in knowing what price point the community is looking to pay on a group buy.

My reading of the gimbal situation is that it is all over the map. I want to buy into the latest and greatest, but also with a company that is going to be able to service and upgrade for a three year lifespan. I also want a heli. Turboace seems to be the only company providing both. Maybe if others in the community are interested in both that could be a part of the gimbal group buy or separate group buy.

I want to buy something in the near future, not too long after NAB, which I am sure is going to be loaded with Gimbals, Helis and other credit card stretchers.

So if we take as a standard a gimbal that would take a Dragon with a zoom, what are we looking at? I have the Canon CN E zoom which is 5lbs and 9" long. With the Dragon body, and associated gear is this even going to be possible?

Can we draw up a list of requirements, desires and timelines and arrive at a group buy price point to discuss with Turboace?

Hey guys,

Interesting product Ed. We noticed you guys used the BeSteady One as a reference when developing an improved solution. I just wanted to highlight that our BeSteady Four is very different from the One and it's more suitable to make comparisons to that considering it's our heavy lifter. You can see some of it's key features as we've outlined here: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showth...-Available-for-Preorder&p=1338502#post1338502

Good luck in your project. We'll be following with interest!

Thank all of you for your continued support. We are seeing a lot of activity coming though our kickstarter so thank you guys for considering our product.

For those of you who are still uncertain, we have some very exciting news about the Allsteady 7 coming early next week. The Allsteady 7 truly is a gimbal that you will never outgrow.
