What is the rod spacing of the 15mm rod clamp? Is it 100mm Arri offset or 60mm video or light weight?

I absolutely love Allstar accessories. The best handheld rig for sure. It lowers the center of gravity several inches vs the mantis.

+1 Allstars hand held rig is beautifully made and works like a champ!

I also just received the A-mount lens adapter system and will write about it soon, but the quality is fist rate!

We use Steadicam with standard plate. We use (catgriller) from Germany, for mounting quickly to fluid or wheels head, or crane. could it be possible to get slider cut into top of hand held rig to accept the standard Steadicam (Cp Tiffen Pro) style Plate?

This is a much better system than Arri which is large clunky old style stuff unsuitable for Steadicam, and adding significant weight to the shoulder mount. the Steadicam wedge plate is plenty strong until going to extremely large zooms etc. and then we are probably not going on steadi or hand held anyway. also it is extremely low profile so that
the3 cog can be further reduced.

Another nice aspect is that wireless focus trans etc is already mounted on the camera or steadicam plate rods, We prefer the XCs plate since it is even more rigid and only costs about 1`/2 inch of height. when moving the camera between supports it is not necessary to change focus motors etc.

PS Catgriller does not currently support safety lock on the steadicam plates so it is possible to shift the camera off the plate if the tightening screw should loosen. We are certainly in the market for similiar devices that would enable this additional safety feature. The cat griller is made by Baer Bel in Germany. Unfortunately German money makes these more expensive than they should be. They are sold in America by Cam-Tec Steadicam Store which is currently out of stock.

Hi TJ, thanks for your info, If the size of the dovetail(on Steadicam) is the same as o`connor 1030, you may choose this Bridge plate:

That you can go standard Arri on tripod and mount upper dovetail on Steadicam directly to save the weight, or mount a base on staedicam for upper dovetail:

Hi Allstar,
May be it is just a typo mistake, I think you are visiting to LA from Jan to Fab, not Jun to Feb.
Does ET Arri Dovetail can directly mount into Allstar Shoulder Pad? I am trying to find a cheaper solution for handheld rig. If it does i just can buy the Shoulder pad/T-bar/19mm rod clamps and use RED handle. Do you think, does this work?

OOps, it`s Jan not Jun.
Shoulder pad cuold mount on 1030 dovetail, that will be very heavy, if you want to do this...but your set works.
or you can choose Shoulder pad,T-bar and ARRI Plate for shoulder pad (item codeS-A), that will be better ,just more $100. Lighter and quickly to swap HH/tripod.

There are so many ways to build his rig and I've just sorted out and ordered mine (with much assistance from Allstar). I ended up going with the Allstar Shoulder Dovetail as a base that the system is built on. This allows me to put an Arri base on the camera and then (with an Arri dovetail on the tripod) slide the camera right off the tripod and onto the Shoulder System. You can build his system lighter and with less pieces, to save money if need be. I think my setup is going to be very versatile and fast to switch out... can't wait to get it!
