Hello,
Apologies if this is to be found anywhere else on Reduser but I couldn't find anything.

Has anyone heard of the Allstar mount system? The mount is supposedly approved by RED.
Has anyone used it? Thumbs up or down?

Seems like a great answer to the hack lens-bag-of-tricks many of us have.

I've heard good things, but I also seem to remember reading that some of their mounts will not work with scarlet/epic due to size/clearance issues.

Great mount system, its as revelutionary as the camera it self, OK, not quite but it is very good and well worth it. Its a solid a PL and as easy to use. Allstar are alls a good manufacturer and very diligent as a supplier. Works with Scarlet too Im assured.

Here's some pics with a Cinevised Leica lens.

Awesome, thanks guys.
Is the portion of the adaptor system that attaches to the lens easily swapped out across lenses of the same type? Or do you need multiple adaptors for the multiple lenses of the same type in your bag?

One source tells me it takes about 2 minutes with an allen key if you want to remove the adaptor from a lens and put it on another. I'm sure it's an easy thing to do, but not exactly something you want to hassle with on a shoot.

Thanks for any other info you can provide!

My ALLSTAR mount has adapters for PL, BNCR, OCT-19, and Nikon. I can switch between them without needing to adjust backfocus. His design and machine work are first rate. I'm having my RED One version converted to EPIC, so it should also work on Scarlet.

The lens adaptor take a minuite or two to change between lenses. Id fit one to each lens. I realise theres a cost to that. The PL and BNCR you only need one of they are very quick to fit.

Check other threads about Leica lenses on this board you will see these adaptors fitted to lenses there. This mount really revolutionsies the camera as you can use a huge variety of glass on it that other wise would be much more difficult or impossible to use.

Out of any accesory that we have in our inventory this is by a very long way the best value item.

Thanks Martin. Much appreciated. I've never heard of that site before. I'll bookmark it. :)
Sorry, I should have searched deeper into the second page of the reduser forum search results. Your link was there. Thanks for forwarding it to me.

Thinking of getting some with my C/Y lenses. I wonder if they have been approved by RED yet for the Epic/Scarlet?
