I just wish they could squeeze out 4k 48fps. Its not going to happen but that would be really killer last firmware upgrade for the scarlet

Different strokes for Different folks; 4.5k/24fps would be fine by me (are arguably the most likely... 48 at 4k is like ~40% more pixel throughput than 30fps... that doesn't seem like a, 'oh yeah, we left the '4k HFR' toggle switched turned off' type of firmware solution)

RED has said in the past that the SCARLET is limited to 45MB/s throughput. According to RED's own tools it takes 43MS/s to get 48fps @ 4k at 13:1 on the MX. I would be okay with that.

That can't be right; 4K 6:1 is 47mb/s... And what about HDRx? Even at 3k its probably like 80mb/s?

I was always under the impression that the throughput was limited by the vertical resolution and frame megapixel count... 4480x1920 (4.5k) = 8.85mp = 4096x2160... I think we just need a MagicLantern firmware group.
