  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

ALERT: Stolen RedOne Camera? Under $4,000?!

Asked them a question - from their feedback and previous non-camera related transactions I'd guess this is a legitimate Ebay account that has been hijacked.

Sign in to eBay and you can click on the "Report item" link below the Other item info box. It is most likely non-existent, but even if eBay doesn't care about that, the "contact me directly" is an attempt to sell outside of eBay, which is against their policy, so that alone should get it yanked. Interestingly, that info is a JPG, not text that eBay's systems would be able to search. It is certainly fraud, and I'm sure if you contact him he'll ask you to send money over Western Union or some other scam like that.

I've done a "Report item" and I would recommend that others do the same as well - bombard eBay with reports to make sure they get the point.

Done. Suggested they require a S/N. that way it's pedigree can be verified.

You think they'll give a genuine serial? There IS no camera, it's a SCAM plain and simple. They'll ask you to send funds to some dodgy place via Western Union.

The item has been removed from eBay. Just checked the link...

Good work, everybody!

I resource I forgot to mention earlier is http://www.tineye.com/ the reverse image search engine. If you think a seller might be using someone else's photo, you can punch it into TinEye, and it will find other places on the web where the image exists. It's handy for all sorts of other things, too! Just last week I found that all of the stills from a production company that started to look a little dodgy were all purchased from a microstock photography site. The films and TV shows they claimed to have made never existed.

Just another scam.

Once you contacted him, he will send an email regarding payment and ask for your address. Then an eBay invoice which will be sent from eBay@reply3-ebay.com just like below:

If you asked him to pay via PayPal he will send you this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNY4ao-v8Is

OMG... that's soooooo simple trick that I couldn't think there will be someone uses!

yup had the exact same thing happen to me, I new it was a scam when he could not provide a serial number and only wanted to use western union.
